Keeb is an independently developed companion for viewing, directing, and managing Codex tasks running on your Mac. Keeb for iPhone connects directly to the Keeb Companion CLI over your local network. Your Mac remains the host where Codex and your project files run.

Requirements

Getting Started

  1. Open Terminal on your Mac.
  2. Run the following command:

npx keeb-cli

The first run downloads and starts the latest Keeb Companion CLI.

  1. Keep the Terminal window open and keep your Mac awake. Closing the Terminal window stops the connection.
  2. Open Keeb on your iPhone and open the connection page.
  3. Tap “Scan to Connect.”
  4. Allow Local Network and Camera access when prompted.
  5. Scan the current QR code displayed in Terminal.

If the QR code cannot be scanned, copy the complete keeb:// pairing link shown below it and paste the link into the connection page in Keeb.

No separate Mac Companion application or six-digit pairing code is required for the current version.

Connection Troubleshooting

Keeb Cannot Connect After Scanning

Confirm that your iPhone and Mac are connected to the same local network.

Keep npx keeb-cli running in Terminal and make sure your Mac is awake.

Check that Local Network access is enabled for Keeb in iPhone Settings.
